The Grove of Anaheim

Operated by Nederlander Concerts, The Grove of Anaheim is a live, indoor music venue in the city. It is located on the Angel Stadium's northwest corner of the parking lot and two miles from Disneyland Resort. Also, it is located adjacent to the Metrolink Station or the Anaheim's Amtrak. The Grove looks like a movie studio complete with sound stage and water tower.

This music venue has gone through many name changes in the past. Originally it opened as 'Tinseltown', a restaurant themed as an award show which allowed its guests to pretend as stars arriving for an Awards ceremony of Hollywood, with paparazzi shooting photos as they walked on the red carpet. It was built at a cost of fifteen million dollars.

The imaginative concept of Tinseltown failed and the fantasy dinner theatre format was changed to real life concerts. The name was also changed from Tinseltown to 'The Sun'. Again in 2001 the name of the venue was changed to 'The Grove of Anaheim'.

Due to the small size of the Grove, the ticket holders of the concerts and shows here are allowed to get quiet close to the performers. For concerts this venue can seat 1400 people and for dinner shows 600 people. This house hardly has any bad seat.

In the first year, The Grove of Anaheim hosted concerts by Randy Newman, Ringo Starr, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Clint Black, Styx, Ray Charles, Tom Jones, Robert Palmer, Peter Frampton, the Righteous Brothers, John Lee Hooker, the Little River Band, Gordon Lightfoot, Culture Club, the Doobie Brothers, Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, America, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pat Benetar, Little Feat, etc.

Many of the acts played here also gets played in the larger venues where most of the seating is not as favorable as the Grove. The prices of tickets at The Grove of Anaheim are generally around $60, while the best seats sometimes priced as much as $96. Tickets are available online, through Ticket Master or at the Grove box office for your next travel to Anaheim.
