
A Complete Introduction and Demonstration of All Collections at Anaheim Orange County Museum of Art
Orange County Museum of Art is situated in Newport Beach in California. It houses more than 3000 art pieces which mainly focuses on the tradition of art in California. The art pieces mainly belong to the period starting from 20th century till present times. The exhibits belong to various forms of art including photography, sculptures, paintings, installation art and digital media and videography. Educational programs and events are held in this museum where adults and children participate in various artistic activities.
Scope is the online collection of the museum consisting of archival documents, audio recordings and images. The collection focuses on various art movements that influenced the artistic scene of California like early Modernism, Minimalism and Pop Art. Works of Catherine Opie, Bill Viol, Alan Rath and John Baldessari feature in their collection. Charles Long: 100 Pounds of Clay is another set of collection in the museum. There are 100 sculptures in this section by Charles Long. This section is dedicated to photography and displays photos by eminent persons like Andy Warhol and Ansel Adams.
The New Art for a New Century section comprises 430 specimens of contemporary art by national, regional and international artists. Visit the museum during 2010 California Biennial - an exhibition of the work of various contemporary artists.
