Crystal Cathedral

Located in the heart of Garden Grove in the California state for Anaheim CA travel, the Crystal Cathedral Anaheim is the dwelling of the international Crystal Cathedral Ministries, which includes a congregation of over ten thousand members and the globally televised "Hour of Power" program.

The Crystal Cathedral is a Christian church in Orange County, California. The famous architect Philip Johnson planned the main building; this building was constructed using over ten thousand rectangular pane of crystal glass and can hold up to 2,900 worshipers at a time.

The rectangular glass panes are not fastened to the edifice; in its place they are stuck to it using silicone-based glue that can hold glass well. This and other features were planned to let the building recuperate from an earthquake of magnitude approximately 8.0.

The name of the church "Crystal Cathedral" signifies the building's dimension and look and does not look like a conventional church in its looks. It is affiliated to The Reformed Church in America. The building and has now become Southern California' structural landmark now and attracts thousands of visitors and pilgrims every year.

The church that was then known as Garden Grove Community Church was founded in the year 1955 by the Reverend Robert H. Schuller and his wife, Arvella. It is recognized by commentators of the faith as the world's first "seeker sensitive" church.

The rapid growth of the church following led to the need for a new capacity. A new structure that can hold more pilgrims was envisioned and a unique capacity with its walls made of glass was planned. The well renowned architect and designer Phillip Johnson was commissioned and was given the task to complete the project in time.

The church added the new Family Life Center in the year 1990 and in 2003; the Crystal Cathedral Anaheim site was finished with the opening of the uniquely designed convivial Center. The Church is renowned as a Southern California landmark.
