When was the city of Anaheim founded
Anaheim was founded in 1857 mainly by German settlers who found the region suitable for agriculture of grapes causing a sprouting of wineries. As the city is located around German settlings, by the Santa Ana River, Anaheim got its name as a German for the area meaning home by that river. The region was barely habited until the settlers bought 1,165 acres or 4.7 square km mostly towards the western coast.
The initial years were marred with battles and disputes with Spanish settlers. However, soon after, the southern grants of Spanish land were found even more fertile, and got inhabited over the initial years.
