Anaheim Convention Center
One of California's major convention centers is the Anaheim Convention center located across the Disneyland Resort. Much of the facilities in the Anaheim Convention center have undergone renovation in recent times. What awaits you today is more a state of the art facility.
It was only in 1967 that the basketball arena was opened and the conventional hall followed shortly thereafter. During the three decades that followed, the Anaheim Convention center went through 3 major expansions resulting in enclosed space of over 800,000 square foot.
The NAAM show of 2008 is by far the largest of all expositions held at the Anaheim Convention Center so far. This convention focused on music equipment and was open to trade only. Even so, it attracted 1560 exhibitors with an attendance exceeding 88,000. Barring a three year break between 1988 and 2000 this show has been continuously running at the Anaheim Convention Center every year since 1977.
The break itself occurred largely due to the renovation which was under way at the center during the period. NAMM's lease with the center is due to expire in 2010 and NAMM is pursuing with the authority to further improve and expand the center.
In 2007, Blizzard Entertainment, the creators of World of Warcraft held their BlizzCon at this center. For the 2007 event, tickets were gone in 3 days and when it came to the 2008 event it took just a few minutes for the tickets to disappear. Apart from being a major destination for prestigious exhibitions and shows, the center regularly plays host to sports fixtures.
Basketball and wrestling are among the common sports events held here for travel in Anaheim. The sheer size and the most modern facilities available at the center makes it the sought after venue for a variety of events across businesses.
